Liverpool Wedding Photographer | Documentary Wedding Photography The Liver Building, Liverpool

The Liver Building Wedding Photographer | Liverpool Wedding.

Clare & Dave had a fun filled wedding at The Royal Liver Building in Liverpool. It was an amazing day, full of good cheer, love, loud scousers and it was rather a lot of fun. Here are a few images from their day, I dearly hope I managed to capture the essence of their day in them. There was no posing, nothing was staged, and I was encouraged to kick back, relax and enjoy the experience along with everyone else - which from a documentary wedding photographer perspective is perfect. Being part of a wedding gives me access to moments that a wedding photographer who takes more of a back seat wouldn’t notice, for me being part of something is paramount to telling the story properly and capturing the true essence of the day.

The great thing about Claire & Shaun’s day was just how fun it was. I’ve always loved the Liver Building as a Wedding Venue, it creates a brilliant atmosphere (obviously there’s a heavy reliance on the people there too), I can’t explain it but it just does! From a practicality perspective, the staff are always fun and friendly and certainly add to the happy vibe of the venue. The food is always excellent and the layout is great for those turning the room around times.

A relaxed approach to wedding photography in Liverpool.

Claire & Dave booked me to photograph their wedding in Liverpool because they didn’t want the photography side of things to be a big part of the day, they simply wanted pictures of their day without any fuss or awkwardness.

They weren’t keen on the idea of having their picture taken and that’s why I was chosen as their perfect Liverpool wedding photographer. My relaxed style and subtle approach leaves couples to enjoy their wedding without feeling like they are on a day-long wedding photo shoot!

I want couples to make the most of their wedding day, and a photographer who blends in as part of a wedding rather than herding people from one place to the next allows them to do that, along with dressing like a guest and not carrying a host of photo equipment - people don’t notice I’m there and often mistake me for another guest or friend of the couple.

I feel it’s super important to tell a full story of a wedding, not just from an hour before leaving to get married to the first dance. A full story (for me) is the complete story of a wedding day from beginning to late in the evening. The nerves and excitement of getting ready on a wedding morning right through to the crazy evening partying (and everything in-between).

That’s why I was booked, to allow the day to happen and take pictures of the day as it was, I like to think this approach works well for fun loving couples who want more than a few posed pictures of their wedding. If that is all you want then I’m not really the right photographer for you, if you want a days worth of memories from the perspective of someone who was there enjoying it, hopefully I am the right wedding photographer for you.
