Miriam & Ben had a small intimate wedding at St. Peter’s Church in Prestbury, Cheshire. Surrounded by close family and friends this was the official UK wedding before their big party wedding at Villa Pizzo on Lake Como.
Wedding Photography in Prestbury, Cheshire.
This was an appetizer, a teaser, a pre-wedding wedding. A small gathering of close family to celebrate the UK wedding of Miriam & Ben, before we all flew off to Lake Como for once heck of a luxury wedding at Villa Pizzo.
So, obviously Miriam asked me to photograph the UK event (and the Italy one), so I did. It was great to see these guys again, we’ve got to know each other rather well, I shot Miriam’s sisters wedding a couple of years earlier (also on Lake Como), and since then a number of family Birthdays and house parties.
So I was genuinely chuffed when Miriam said she was getting married and I absolutely had to be there. I literally know everyone who goes to these events now, it’s like meeting old friends and it’s always great to catch up.
A relaxed approach to wedding photography in Cheshire.
Miriam & Ben knew exactly how my approach worked, one of the reasons they wanted me at their wedding. Everything was super relaxed, there were 24 people at the wedding, which was lovely and small and I blended in perfectly of course.
That’s the advantage of documentary wedding photography, certainly someone who is a ‘proper’ documentary photographer, the approach is very subtle (usually) and it’s great for people who don’t particularly like having their picture taken.

My entire ethos is to allow people to enjoy their wedding, for me there’s nothing worse than an overbearing photographer who has no idea about personal space and subtlety.
I left Miriam & Ben to make the most of their few hours, they did ask for a 2 minute not really posey but portraity kind of pictures…exact description given…so I grabbed them for 2 minutes (actually more like 1) while their guests were having a chat.
So there we are, I did some portraity pictures too…ME of all people! I’ll blog their Como wedding soon too.
