Liverpool Town Hall Wedding Photography | Liverpool City Centre Wedding, UK
Claire & Shaun had THE most lively wedding at Liverpool Town Hall and was pretty damn amazing, very loud, lots of fun and I’m really happy I was asked to be part of it!
Their reception was at Oh Me Oh My - even more lively and loud, just how a wedding reception should be.
Before I go any further I would like to share a few images from their day, a choice select of 138 pictures from a total of 800 (I could post them all but it would take you far too long to look through them all! If you do want to see the full gallery please ask)
*Tip - if you click on the first image you get to see them in all their hi-resolution glory (they look bigger and better)

Can I just say, from the moment I arrived at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool to the moment I left Oh Me Oh My by the docks at god knows what time, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much. I mean, I like scousers, they’re funny people - I think it’s just to cover up the fact they aren’t from Manchester but I could be wrong.
Liverpudlians know how to have a good time, and even though I got a lot of shit from them for being a Manc (I’m actually Welsh btw), it was in good humour and we all had a real ball. I knew it was going to be a good one when I was given a teacup of grey goose in the morning when I arrived, then a pint, then some prosecco - really who needs breakfast anyway!
I’m really lucky as a wedding photographer, I don’t attract boring couples with boring friends and boring families who all want to sit around during a wedding and talk about the weather, or bunions or other irrelevant shit. I attract people who are there to celebrate a marriage, a coming together of families, the people who pick me make the pictures - I just happen to be there to take them at the right time (without acting like a pain in the arse photographer).
My way of working a wedding isn’t like working, it’s informal, I’m a guest not a photographer, I’m trusted, allowed to be close to intimate moments (because I’m trusted) and as a result I make the pictures I do. I’ll be honest it’s got fuck all to do with photography on the day, it’s all about the approach and rapport I built - that’s my stand out differentiator from other wedding photographers, I’m there but not there in a photographic sense as far as other people are concerned…..now before you think you can run off and book any old chump with a chipper personality, that won’t work - I have spend thousands and thousands of hours becoming the photographer I am, that’s years of practice day in day out….not just anyone can do what I do, I just happen to make it look easy on the day because of all the work I’ve already put in.
Photographers normally write blogs about weddings, and they all sound pretty much the same, it gets a bit boring to be honest. Everything was ‘nice’ and everyone was ‘amazing’ and no one got stressed…all lovely words, none of it relatable though. It’s like one big conveyor belt of unicorns and bunnies all the same, all rammed full of cheesy paragraphs.
I mean Claire looked great (obviously), Shaun looked dapper and the venues were brill, it was obvious a hell of a lot of thought had been put into the wedding - but really it’s about the people. This lot were fucking LOUD. Claire walked down the aisle greeted by whooping, hollering, foot stomping, clapping it was like a bloody concert when the main act came on - I loved it! This is the shit of weddings, the feeling and atmosphere of them, the people you choose to surround yourselves with, they make it, they really do.
A fun city centre wedding in Liverpool, a relaxed approach to wedding photography.
Everything I do, I do it for you….oh no that’s a song, hang on a sec.
People book be because they can’t be bothered having an oaf with a camera annoying them and their guests for most of the day. They like my no faff blending in approach and the fact I don’t faff about for ages with equipment to do portraits, in fact most people don’t ask for them at all.
They just like the relaxed approach that’s all. That and the pictures I take obviously.
So yes C & S’s wedding was incredible, I loved it, I loved the people, it has to be one of my favourite ever weddings.
