More stories, less aesthetics

Wedding stories

Stories are important, they start conversations, bring back memories, bring people close together. There's more to candid photography than taking a pretty picture when people aren't looking at a camera. As wedding photographers it's our duty to give couples meaningful memories, a connection and sense of feeling - pictures to truly remember their day by.

A very emotional speech by Lou’s son, daughter being comforted by her Grandad.

One thing I dearly hope of all the pictures I take is that at some point they’re going to spark a conversation, years down the line when you’re idly looking back at your wedding pictures, I want them to bring you right back to those feelings you had on your wedding day.

An emotional time as a bride’s brother walks her down the aisle.

It’s nice to know it’s within my gift to do things like that. They’re the sort of pictures, seemingly unimportant things happening but in years to come they actually become the important things – people being themselves, a photo memory of who they were, caught in a moment.

That feeling when you see each other for the first time

Aesthetically appeasing pictures will only be relevant for a short time, it’s the ones with character, moments and memories, the ones that make the day spring back to life that are priceless.

The feeling associated with being announced into a room, seeing your families and friends cheering you in are something you’ll remember for a long time to come.
